Very little to report recently due to work demands and a short trip to dear old Blighty (visiting family). I have however painted another very small army for my very small fantasy games.
My Dark Elf Army is made up of virtually all Irregular Miniatures figures from the 10mm Fantasy and Historical ranges (apart from the Magic User in the last pic that is from Pendraken). The Giant Spider is from Irregular's 6mm Fantasy range - it's still fairly giant though!
I'm hoping to start a Mini-Campaign using Dominion of the Orc this Autumn, time allowing.
Once again the picture quality isn't great - we're in the grips of another Storm and it's very overcast.

I hope to have some more news soon.

Ohhh those are very nice. I love the two figs to a base dynamic. That works really well.
ReplyDeleteCheers - the "each base is a unit" idea (one cavalry, or two infantry) was originally done to keep the cost / space needed to a minimum, but it grew on me and the very small armies continue to be used!
ReplyDeleteA lovely addition to the repertoire, Commander πππΌπΉ⚔️πΉ.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing them in action.
Hope the trip back was uneventful…π«ππ’
Cheers! The trip back was ok though on an ATR-72 600, which is not a large aircraft and can be a bit uncomfortable, especially for the taller traveler!
DeleteHopefully well before the current spell of weather…they’re a bit incline to flit around in the breeze, them things!
DeleteYes a couple of days before! A few years ago I got diverted to Birmingham as it was too windy to land in Bristol - the coach journey back was way longer than the flight!!
DeleteSounds familiar π΅π«π«
DeleteNice miniatures! I like your backdrop. It's so simple and subtle and is the way I think backdrops looks best at for instance model railways.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roger - I've been thinking about backdrops for model railways myself. I think I'd probably do a simple painted one.
DeleteLove your new mini army! Although I use a few more figures per base than you do, your mini armies have been an inspiration to me. Painting these little armies is addictive and fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark. I agree, it can become an addiction! I don't enjoy painting much as I'm not good at it, so it takes me a long time, however with a mini army in 10mm, results appear quite fast (even for me), so it encourages more work.
DeleteI hope to get some more painted in the next few weeks.
A splendid mini army . I look forward to seeing how it gets on…
ReplyDeleteAlan Tradgardland
Thanks Alan - I hope to get them on the battlefield soon
DeleteI don’t know what’s happening here. When I read your post of 25 October - Dark Elf First Battle - I did wonder why you’d referred to “yesterday’s post” because I couldn’t see one. But now? Lo and behold the earlier post now appears. That magic user must be doing a cracking job π§♂️πͺ⚡️
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have much of the unpainted lead for a DBA Burmese army I could certainly be tempted to add a small 10mm Burmese force for “this” sort of game. Irregular Miniatures make a lovely range. And, let’s be right, who doesn’t want a mighty 10mm elephant, carrying a platform crowded with archers?
Cheers,
Geoff
