The subject of this post is a follow on to the Battle of Tressle, fought earlier this year.

Sir Philip (mounted) at the Battle of Tressle |
At Tressle, Sir Philip of Whare had been defeated by an Army of Chaos, led by the sinister Moonlit Knight. Retreating, with the Chaos Army at his heals, Sir Philip and the survivors of Tressle were met by some knights of the Order of St. Bernard. Having entered the waste know as Lessys Moor, the battered Army turned and prepared a desperate stand.

Sir Philip's force is put under pressure by the ferocious enemy |

A lull in the fighting before Chaos rush in once again |

Sir Philip is driven from the Right hand hill by the onslaught |

Chaos has captured one hill and threaten to take the narrow defile |

With both sides exhausted, Sir Philip and a handful of warriors escape |
The forces of Chaos have won another battle and appear to have the upper hand. Will help arrive from another quarter, or will the Northlands be left to burn?
Looking good, MJT. Sir Phillip seems to be a bit of a ‘bad luck magnet’ ! Will he survive, and will his luck improve?
ReplyDelete(Is this an 8x8 again?)
He is a tad unlucky for sure. Yes, 8x8 board (2 feet square).
DeleteWell, in this campaign the Baddies are doin’ good and the army of law & order - the Goodies - are performing badly. The Northlands will surely fall and continue to burn if the forces of Chaos are not defeated soon.
ReplyDeleteI recognise those Airfix ancient Britons (I had a few boxes many decades ago). They still seem to be doing excellent duty - albeit in the service of Chaos - and ploughed into the defile, forcing back Sir Philip’s dwindling band ⚔️⚔️
I look forward to reading more…
Cheers,
Geoff
Support may appear from an unlikely source... then again it might not! The Ancient Britons were my first "barbarians" and so get to play for Chaos
DeleteA hard luck general for sure. If I recall correctly, one of the questions Napoleon asked about a general was, is he lucky? I love the 1/72 figures.
ReplyDeleteSir Philip is having a hard time! Hopefully his luck will change soon.
DeleteI love the figures, particularly the Chaos army. Plus, their flag makes me happy whenever I look at it.
ReplyDeleteCheers John. Glad you like the Mad Man Moon banner, The eyes are supposed to be craters on the moon's face; though my painting skills are not really up to making much of it, I hope the idea gets across
DeleteGreat looking combatants and interesting game.
